Beautiful Maggie Valley, NC from atop Ghost Town in the sky
This trip was as pleasant a one as I have ever taken. Not only is Maggie Valley a place of beauty but it is, also, full of friendly people. We stayed at the Best Western in the heart of Maggie Valley. It was clean and comfortable with a staff of the most helpful, courteous people I have ever met.
The staff at Ghost Town was exceptional. They went out of their way to make us enjoy our visit. Another part of Ghost Town I have not talked about was the amusement rides and the Indian show. The same kindnesses was true on that side of the mountain, also.
The Indian show was fun. They danced several of the traditional dances of the Cherokee tribe. I love to watch them dance. My family on my mom's and my dad's side are of Indian ancestry which probably explains why we are fascinated with the people and their customs.
Amber was chosen to participate in the friendship dance. She jumped right up there with all the others. She even held hands with one of the Indians. Jacob and I both took pictures but they were to dark to use.

Sun rising over the mountains
On the morning we were leaving Maggie Valley to go to the Tennessee side of the Smokies, we watched this beautiful sunrise from our hotel window. Is that beautiful or what? I could have remained there forever if it had been possible.
To me the mountains are a place of beauty and restfulness. I am drawn to them. Apparently at least two of my grandchildren are, also. They both chose to go to the mountains over going to the beach.
Our stay there over, we headed to Cherokee. Will tell you about that at a later time.......
